  So far this bank has had great customer service, above and beyond what is required. My problem is that the bank system is very difficult, for me and for the local branch employees. I went to the bank to open a simple savings in the local currency. The representative asked me questions. I signed some forms and everything looked good. Then, the rep went to talk to the manager, and the manager had to call in. I waited for an hour before telling them that I needed to get back to work, and that I would return the next week. They pleaded with me to stay, but I had to return to work. The local bank sent someone to me, with forms to sign, on three different occasions. I really appreciated the extra effort and expense they went through. I went today to make my first deposit. I wrote a check, using my bank in the USA, but the teller said they could not take a check for US Dollars, and deposit it in a Lempira (local) currency account. This is the only bank in town that does not do this. I was really surprised because the bank seems so much more advanced than others. However, they cannot do something as simple as convert from USD to Lempira, so I really have no use for this bank. Again, kudos to the employees, they are excellent. The bank itself, however, is not something I can use.
